As a healthcare strategist and policy designer, Dr. Taghred has devoted her career to tackling some of the major challenges facing the healthcare system in Saudi Arabia, working to find tangible solutions for improvement and reform. Armed with a phD in Management Science from Lancaster University, D. Taghred has applied the research, data analysis and reporting skills she gained to her current role as General Director for the National Health Economics and Policy General Directorate in the Saudi Health Council. She credits Lancaster University’s multicultural environment in helping her cooperate and work collaboratively with organisations and people from all walks of life.

Since returning home, Dr. Taghred has developed national health strategies and designed evidence-based policies that have impacted the healthcare system’s regulatory level, ranging across pharmacology, data analysis and strategic purchasing. She is passionate about improving people’s quality of life and health standards, and has recently worked with her team to develop a public health protection program, ensuring the necessary regulations are in place to protect public health – more so than ever.

Dr. Taghred’s leadership skills have been instrumental in her success, and she continues to work with multiple teams and partners to implement the national healthcare strategy in line with Vision 2030. She is committed in creating  a high-quality and robust healthcare framework and governance plan that is able to meet today’s increasing health challenges and risks faced by society.
