Winners for the Study UK Alumni Awards 2021
Following Saudi’s first ever virtual celebration of Alumni awards 2020, which was hosted byboth Saudi and UK Ambassadors last year, Saudi Arabia Alumni Awards has now reverted back to in-person ceremony for the awards 2021 in Riyadh.
The prestigious Alumni award in Saudi Arabia took place on Wednesday night, 20th October at the Ambassador’s residence, Riyadh. Mr. Neil Crompton, Her Majesty's Ambassador to KSA and Eilidh Kennedy McLean, Director of the British Council KSA, hosted the event and the honoured presence Sir Steve Smith, UK Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Education to KSA. The event was also live streamed, and story was covered by all leading media portals in Saudi Arabia and expected to reach over 20+ Million.
The Professional Achievement Award, which recognises alumni who have distinguished themselves through exemplary leadership in their professional field, was presented to Dr. Roua Alsubki , Alumna of University College London.
The Social Impact Award, which acknowledges alumni who have made an exceptional contribution to creating positive social change, was presented to Dr. Bandar Alosaimi for establishing COVIDAT, a website aimed at providing scientific information on Covid-19 in Arabic.
The Entrepreneurial Award, which highlights alumni who have played a leading role in business innovation, was presented to Dr. Wail Mousa, graduate of University of Leeds. Dr. Wail is the founding Dean of the Entrepreneurship Institute and Professor of Electrical Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
