Dr Mashni Al Saeed

Head of Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine Lab, King Faisal Specialist Hospital , University of Glasgow

Mashni is widely recognized in the fields of respiratory and sleep medicine, being part of Saudi Arabia's inaugural group of graduates. He holds the distinction of being among the earliest licensed sleep medicine specialists, having completed the pioneering behavioural sleep medicine program at Glasgow University.

As the founder of the sleep lab at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Mashni also serves as a board member of the Saudi Society for Respiratory Care. With over two decades of experience in respiratory care and sleep, he leads as a sleep medicine specialist and heads the respiratory care service. Mashni's expertise has been showcased in over 30 conferences, and he holds an MSc in Behavioural Sleep Medicine from the University of Glasgow.

During recent pandemics, Mashni led his departmental team in devising safety protocols and infection reduction measures. He actively engaged in daily administrative meetings and was honored with his team with the prestigious golden medal for their frontline efforts.

Additionally, Mashni established a diploma program in respiratory care to address the increasing demand in Jeddah. He has chaired three conferences and facilitated 15 symposiums focusing on respiratory and sleep medicine. Moreover, he has contributed to two sleep medicine workshop programs hosted by King Saud University and King Abdulaziz University, serving as a guest speaker and workshop instructor in over 20 events.

Dr Maha Aleid

Director Knowledge Translation Dep and Acting Director of Partnerships, Saudi NIH, Cranfield University

Dr Maha Aleid leads the Knowledge Translation and Strategic Partnership at the Saudi National Institute for Health (Saudi NIH); Maha has worked as a scientist and leader for two decades to orchestrate a future where research isn't just knowledge but a powerful force for healing. 

Maha observes that Cranfield University provided her with qualities and skills for a deeper understanding of the power of healthcare data to fuel innovation in translational research.

Maha is now taking her skills and expertise to lead the Saudi NIH initiatives, defining the initiatives that would drive the aspirations and support different parts of the health research value chain.

Engr. Mohammed Alswailem

Deputy Minister of Industrial Services, Ministry of Industry & Mineral Resources, Brunel University London

Mohammed Alswailem a Deputy Minister of Industrial Services Since January 2022 in the Ministry of Industry & Mineral Resources; supervising the entire operational activities through ten industrial branches across all regions in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Besides, providing industrial services such as industrial licenses, exemption certificate from customs duty and many other formal certificate to attract and promote industrial investments which reached to more than eleven thousands registered industrial licenses with steady growth of 6% annually, as it shown clearly from the website of the ministry. 

Since January 2022, we succeeded to simplified internal processes for issuing industrial licenses to smoothing investor’s journey. In addition to that, the lead time for Exemption Certificate from customs duties have been enhanced from (12 days to only 48 hours) .

I realized and I spent (15) years that the Engineering Management MSc program provided me with a wide range of knowledge which I found it very practical in simplifying internal processes, enhancing productivity and contributing positively with overall business performance. This I have seen it and practice it while I was with ABB; a global innovative player as well three other organizations I have worked so far. 

I feel valuable in contributing to the transformational journey towards our Saudi vision 2030 through attracting new investors, localizing solutions and enhancing our services to satisfy our partners.
