Dr Mashni Al Saeed
Head of Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine Lab, King Faisal Specialist Hospital , University of Glasgow
Mashni is widely recognized in the fields of respiratory and sleep medicine, being part of Saudi Arabia's inaugural group of graduates. He holds the distinction of being among the earliest licensed sleep medicine specialists, having completed the pioneering behavioural sleep medicine program at Glasgow University.
As the founder of the sleep lab at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Mashni also serves as a board member of the Saudi Society for Respiratory Care. With over two decades of experience in respiratory care and sleep, he leads as a sleep medicine specialist and heads the respiratory care service. Mashni's expertise has been showcased in over 30 conferences, and he holds an MSc in Behavioural Sleep Medicine from the University of Glasgow.
During recent pandemics, Mashni led his departmental team in devising safety protocols and infection reduction measures. He actively engaged in daily administrative meetings and was honored with his team with the prestigious golden medal for their frontline efforts.
Additionally, Mashni established a diploma program in respiratory care to address the increasing demand in Jeddah. He has chaired three conferences and facilitated 15 symposiums focusing on respiratory and sleep medicine. Moreover, he has contributed to two sleep medicine workshop programs hosted by King Saud University and King Abdulaziz University, serving as a guest speaker and workshop instructor in over 20 events.
