Dr Nahla Samargandi received her PhD from the University of Brunel.
She is currently employed at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) as the female campus’ Business Department Head, where she enjoys relaying her UK Study experience for the benefit of her colleagues, encouraging them to pursue higher education in the UK.
She used her time in the UK as an opportunity to distinguish herself, through participation in enormous science events such as the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS) Conference and the PhD Conference on International Development. She felt that these were a major advantage as they were unavailable to colleagues studying in other major study destinations.
Dr Nahla has been published in many leading international journals, two of which were published before completing her PhD, all in accordance with the Association of Business School (ABS). Her proactivity in published research has earned her the Deans’ Prize for Innovation and Impact in Doctoral Research from her university as well as being asked to act as an ad hoc referee for numerous high ranked international journals.
The Scientific Endowment in KAU chose Dr Nahla to give a 3-day workshop entitled “Riyali”, a financial awareness programme for young people to better enhance their financial knowledge in daily life. So far, she has trained over 2,000 young females. By 2020, this programme hopes to help more than 2 million youth in the community.
