Ali H. Al-Hoorie teaches at the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. He completed his PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Nottingham under the supervision of Professors Zoltán Dörnyei and Norbert Schmitt. He also holds an MA in Social Science Data Analysis from Essex University. He has authored around 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and five books, presented papers at various international conferences, and won multiple awards.
Ali studies artificial intelligence for the detection of Alzheimer's, plagiarism, and predatory publications. Ali attributes his success to excellent supervision at Nottingham University and advanced statistical instruction at Essex University. A grassroots campaign to make scientific books free is currently underway.
