Role overview

The basic requirements for a Clerical Marker include:

  • having a competent level of English to enable the full understanding of the complexities of IELTS Marking Policy;
  •  having a minimum qualification of a secondary/high school diploma - A level or equivalent;
  •  not being involved in IELTS training or preparation in any form.

Under the supervision of the IELTS Administrator, the successful candidate, as a member of the clerical marking team, will assume responsibility for marking OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheets while adhering to the policies and procedures in the IELTS clerical marking policy.  This position requires consistent marking accuracy and an attention to detail.

Qualification & skills required

Candidates must be highly-motivated individuals who can work independently, are detail-oriented, and are willing to make quick decisions based on policies and procedures.  They must also have strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills, excellent communication skills in the English Language (both written & oral), the ability to work effectively in a diverse office within a pressured, multi-task environment, and have a proven record of meeting deadlines & punctuality. 

This is a part-time position. Clerical Markers will only be needed for 1 or 2 days after IELTS test dates, which are typically Saturdays.
